Homemade Muesli {& A Play Doh Party!}

This is a REALLY tasty cereal, I highly recommend trying it. I made it up back in my Santa Monica days. I used to eat it every morning at 5am before I left for work. It kept me energized all morning. Plus it is really easy and you can add pretty much anything you want {i.e. hemp seeds, etc.}. This is a great low-sugar candida breakfast ideas well.

Muesli Recipe

1c Rolled Oats ORG
1/2c Shredded Coconut ORG
1/4c Wheat Germ, raw ORG
1/4c Xylitol {or less}
5 Dates or 1/4c raisins {optional}
2 Tbls Coconut oil, raw ORG {per serving}

First mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Mash up the dates if you decide to use them. Store in a cool dry container.

When ready to eat, mix with coconut oil by pressing the coconut oil into the mixture.

note: you can also blend this in a Magic Bullet or Vitamix and then put it on top of your child's oatmeal or on top of yogurt or a smoothie.

This sounds delicious. Is the coconut oil solid or do you heat up/

Yummy! This would be great with kefir too. Cute fun pics, my kids love homemade play doh, it's also much softer!

Hi Juli,
Love this recipe. Quick question do you soak the oats overnight? I feel like they might be kinda tough to eat without soaking. :)

Coconut is room temp. I squish it into the mixture. :)

Michelle - Love the idea of using kefir. Muesli reminds me of being in Europe (which is always a good thing!)

LOVE that our blog is all about low sugar, healthful real foods!! As a to-be dentist, xylitol seems to be the way to go when you want to prevent cavities, so it's interesting to see it also incorporated into food!!! I personally eat xylitol mints because I tend to get a ton of cavities, despite brushing!

Keep blogging!! Love your recipes and ideas!
